Those that are into the show and the 1st film know what to expect from Johnny and company. The skits are more extreme and the laughs never stop. Sure after two viewings it's not as funny but for a 1st timer it may be one of the times in your life where you will laugh so hard for so long it actually hurts.
I am looking forward to this being released on DVD for the extra skits. 29. Can't beat it.
As much as these guys get panned for their low brow humor you have to give them credit for milking it for what it's worth. Their pain is our gain and kudos to them for having the balls to do some of these things because god knows you won't catch me doing any of it.
There will never be another group of people to replace them once they stop doing Jackass for good.
I still think they got one more over the top movie left in them and to be honest I can't wait to see it if it does happen. |

| | Why you should buy this book today, November 29, 2006 You will notice in my profile that I write honest reviews about cutting edge material. At least half of the books I read each week prove not even worth starting or, fail to deliver as its other reviews promised. In other words, they were being propped up by phony reviews. But this book really does something new and in its attempt at a kind of undeniable leno-esque biting humor, it accidentally produces a fascinating insight: Most therapeutic treatment protocols are ineffective and really are worthy of laughing at. So this book does more than make you laugh, it really indicts the therpeutic and coaching industry. And when we laugh, the body and brain shake which in turn wakes up our thinking. And when our thinking is 'shaken', we find better ways to do things. Read this cutting-edge book and buy it for friends you really care about. Help friends in need to laugh their way through their challenges. |

Perhaps I would typify it as more arcane or limited to the narrow genre (Celtic) within which she has presented herself as being a part of. Even then, I wouldn't say she has the range and complexity of a more worldly performer such as Loreena McKennit but she definitely brings the vocal tinges of Kate Bush back into the present. Even for fans of Kate Bush, who is and was a phenomenal performance artist as well as vocalist, I wouldn't typify Aeone as a brilliant or an enrapturing artist who sweeps listeners up into her musical impressionism. But more of the lilting high-ranging soprano with an easy falsetto that strikes one as very ancient yet very modern in her vocal capability. I must admit I wasn't overwhelmed as I've been with some of the modern performers like Loreena McKennit, Enya, Aoife Ni Fhearraigh, or the Celtic Women, but she's not displeasing either. For real afficianado's I'd recommend more traditional Gaelic music such as Celtic Spirit or the new (2006) release of Pure Nightnoise. Lot's of older music but a good sampling of the genre. |

But in a "previous life" he worked as a forensic anthropologist specialized in dacaying bodies until his wife and child died in a car accident. When women start to disappear and get brutally murdered in Manham he starts to help the police. It becomes increasingly apparent that the murderer has to come from the village and slowly suspicion enters the community: a beaten up homosexual, a civil vigilance movement and a preacher who pretends to be the village conscience do not improve the atmosphere in the village. Luckily, David meets the teacher Jenny and they fall in love with each other. But then fate intervenes...
A very interesting book considering the theme (what happens to a village population when there is an unidentiefied killer in their midst), which is by the way very similar to "The church of the dead girls" by Dobyns. The only minus is that the descritions of the bodies and the accompanying signs of decay are sometimes a bit too vivid to my taste: not a book to read on an empty stomach. |

The Beatles as you have never heard them before in glorious 5.1 DTS. Simply put, amazing. This is not only the perfect CD/DVD to buy if you are a Beatles fan but perfect if this is your first time discovering them. And what an introduction. It's like taking a time machine and being in the studio with The Beatles themselves. Put this on, crank it up and close your eyes. I am really speechless as to what else to say. It's really that good. The best music DVD I own, period. |

The Logitech MX Revolution is their newest flagship model featuring wireless connectivity and a swooping new design. A meek remodeling this is not. Bold lines carve sharp curves into this input device while a new technology promises to deliver "The World's Most Advanced Mouse", but we'll see about that. It does have lasers, so that's a good start.

Hitting back-to-back homeruns with "Family Ties", followed by the wildly successful (and still popular) "Back to the Future" trilogy, Fox carved out a moment in the public eye that few ever get to experience. He was able to sustain his showbiz career until the end of the last century, when his Parkinson's Disease symptoms became too much to balance a career and a personal life. Fox's announcement of his illness in the late 1990s forced many people to face their own mortality; "if it can happen to him, it can happen to me".
Fox's humility within this tome is refreshing. I doubt that many in his position would be able to disclose their personal lives and most subjugated moments with such candidness. His memoir is also educational, as it serves as an introduction to not only Parkinson's Disease, but also stem cell research. His information comes across as edifying, not preachy.
This book is well-paced, and I didn't find it to be the least bit self-serving. Fox writes in such a way that he assumes if you're reading the book, you're familiar with his work. There are no laborious stories about "the second season of Family Ties, the third season of Spin City", etc. He offers insight into those years without droning the casual fan or reader to sleep. Fox's natural charm and humor, which often mirrored that of the characters he portrayed on-camera, comes through in his words. His book is written as if it were simply a lengthy letter being written to an old friend.
Overall, this book is funny, sad, informational, and maybe most importantly, inspirational. With Fox as the unintended flag-bearer for the P.D. community, they have been given a voice that they never quite had before. Fox accepts that responsibility with optimism, and perhaps a necessary bull-headedness. More power to him.
This book is an excellent read. I hope to soon read Fox's follow-up work, "Parkinson's Disease - A Look Back". |

One was the title role in "Carmen" and, although perhaps too mature for the role, her acting was as strong as her singing...and her singing was magnificent. This was a Carmen to be reckoned with. The other role was even more impressive: The Mother Superior in Poulenc's "Dialogues of the Carmelites." First I saw her perform it in English and then at another performance in French. Her death scene was one of the most harrowing I've ever experienced on any stage. This recording will introduce everyone to the beauty, subtlety, charm and fine interpretations of Madame Crespin. And the Berlioz' "Les Nuits D'ete" is arguably the best available. |
