5.0 out of 5 stars Ahh the conveinience...., April 21, 2003
This gets five stars for ease of installation, design, speed of data transfer, and most importantly, lets me go where I want to with out my trail of wires following me. Inside, outside, upstairs, downstairs, have not yet found a place around our 3 acre property, including in the barns where I can not access the internet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works just fine!, April 21, 2003
I (being a non computer person) managed to install this and get it running with very little problem. The only issue I have is with Windows XP which I do seem to be able to share all files with the other computers on the network. Yet to solve that problem! The instructions that came with it are not written for the non computer person and it took a little rereading to understand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why did we not buy this sooner!, April 21, 2003
We install a lot of kitchens, this pays for its self when putting in a 12" wide or less cabinet, trying to secure the face frames. If you can justify it the budget it is well worth it! Please its not t tool you use lots and lots, so you get two 14.4V batteries that interchange with your other Dewalt tools!

4.0 out of 5 stars too expensive!, April 21, 2003
We are a contracting company and have tried to stick to one brand of rechargeable tool at the same voltage so that the batteries are interchangable. This gets four stars because they do not last under heavy use conditions...the best we have managed is 11 months. We are carefull to fully discharge and fully recharge but they start to not a charge as long then will not charge at all. The other reason for the four stars is that they are way too expensive. It would not be so bad if it lasted for 24-30 months. We have 5 tools, each with 2 batteries and are replacing them about once a year.
Bring down the price and it would be a 5 star!

5.0 out of 5 stars Now I am happy!, April 21, 2003
My husband decided it was time to go digital when our 35mm camera stopped working. Thats fine I said but I must have a way to print, I love photo albums and framed pictures. Well a year later we have 6 CDs filled with pictures and not one of them printed. I tried taking the CD to photo places but the cost was out of this world and they usually messed something up. I tried to shop for printers at local stores but no one would give me samples.
So online I went and I read and read and came to the conclusion that the Cannon i950 was the best out there. I was right. Set up was a breeze, it took me longer to find a spce for it than it did to install. (A USB cable would have been a nice touch!) The images are clean and crisp, very happy with 4"x6", 5"x7" and 8"x11" no loss in quality. The prints are boarderless which makes things easy. The one feature I would have liked to see is a roll feed with a cutter but I am not unhappy without it.
The ink is lasting better than I thought, I have run about 40 4"x6" prints and we are still doing fine. I use Adboe photshop to edit photos then save them and print from the cannon software. Its an extra step but the cannon easyprint software is very clear and concise. Now I just need to find an affordable source for the cannon paper where shipping does not cost more than the product!
I would recomend this printer with out a doubt.

5.0 out of 5 stars All Souls, April 9, 2003
My reactions relate not only to the reading "All Souls" but to other reviews of the work. I should state with clarity that I am familiar neither with the individuals in the book nor with the history of Southie. Yet MacDonald's book is vital to both the story of urban centers such as Boston but also to the untold story of white poverty in the United States. Books such as "All Souls" and more militant pieces such as "The Redneck Manifesto" (Jim Goad's brash and irreverent book) are important accounts of white poverty. MacDonald never portrayed his work as "a socio-cultural study of white poverty in an Urban Center in the Northeastern United States," but a personal account of his family's experiences. "All Souls" presents a good picture of the complexities of the real world - a family that was a picture of both dysfunction and resiliency, a community "code" that served both as its' strength and its' Achilles heal, and a person who journeyed through life trying to come to terms with these issues.

Unaware of the accuracy of the "facts," the story of this family is an important addition to those who continually ignore the reality of the "white experience in America" - an experience, that for many, is not couched in race-based advantage. To dismiss an important piece of work such as this based on interpretation of facts or untold pieces of what is an enormously complex story misses the point. Mr. MacDonald, good job on starting an important discussion!

4.0 out of 5 stars Understated horror at it's finest, April 3, 2003
Dario Argento is the godfather of Italian horror! Inferno is, in my opinion, one of his finest movies. If you're in it for the gore, buy Deep Red instead. However, if you love occult flicks where the horror is symbolic and on a grander, more menacing scale, you might just enjoy this. The movie revolves around the three mothers, women of unspeakable power who control the fate of entire cities. The key to discovering their secret lies in the pages of an alchemist's book, but those secrets seem to cost the lives of all who try to uncover them. There is quite a bit of violence and blood for those who enjoy it, and plenty of mystery and intrigue. This film should be savored like a fine wine.
